How it works
Same chance means every line in your list has exactly the same odds of being chosen. If you ask for several names, each line can be chosen once at most, and every line still has the same chance. With no repeated lines, that means each name once at most.
The numbers come from your browser's secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues). A plain remainder would favour some names by a tiny amount, so a step discards a few raw numbers to make sure no name is favoured.
Your list is not saved or sent anywhere, and it is gone when you close the page. The page counts a visit and nothing else.
A list can hold 10,000 names at most. Names are split on line breaks only, so a name may contain commas. Capital letters, spaces at the ends and invisible characters are ignored when matching, so Sam and sam are the same name. Repeated lines count as separate entries unless you tick the box.
This is your browser's random generator. It is not an audited lottery draw.
